If you’re wondering where to eat in Fuerteventura, you’ve come to the right place! You have chosen the European mecca of waves and a paradise of endless beaches. At Poseidon Surf Academy, I know you come for the surf, the adrenaline, and the salt. But after an intense morning riding the best waves in Corralejo or exploring the northern spots, the best refuel is absolutely essential.
The Best Places to Eat in Fuerteventura: From Corralejo to the South
As your surf instructor and local guide, I’ve prepared the Ultimate Guide so your culinary experience on the island is as memorable as your surf session. Forget about tourist traps and generic places; this is my personal, authentic, and tried-and-tested selection.
I’ve compiled a list of 9 essential spots where I, and my team, love to eat, ranging from the most savage tapas in Corralejo to the hidden gems in El Cotillo and the south of the island. Here you’ll find everything: from the best arrocería (rice restaurant) in Fuerteventura to that sandwich that brings your soul back after a tough day.

This guide is not just about where to eat; it’s about where to experience the real Canarian culture and gastronomy. Ready to trade your surfboard for a fork? Prepare your appetite, because these are my favorite places…
Corralejo
Casa Cecilia
Casa Cecilia is my personal and sincere recommendation. Not only because Chef Ángel Lírio is a great friend of mine, but because his cuisine is SIMPLY BRUTAL, regardless of our friendship. This is haute cuisine in Corralejo. He uses fresh, zero-kilometer products, and the result is always an unforgettable experience.

It’s the perfect place for a celebratory dinner after an intense week of surf. You won’t regret it! Don’t leave without trying the octopus, the mussels in curry sauce, or the crispy salmon bites. If you like pork, don’t miss the torreznos and the suckling pork block.

Tapas Oscar
If you’re looking for a local vibe and authentic cuisine, this is the place. The best Spanish and Canarian tapas. Simply exquisite!
La Arrocería
As its name suggests, there’s no better spot on the whole island. If you’re craving a good rice dish, La Arrocería’s paella is your essential destination.
Patai
A treasure right on the beach. Order their spectacular rice dish and enjoy incredible views. It combines great vibes, sand, and flavor.
El Cotillo
La Bocatería Kanalla
The must-visit spot in El Cotillo. They are famous for their energy-boosting breakfasts (ideal before grabbing your board!), but the jewel in the crown is the Pork Cheek Sandwich (Bocata de Carrilleras). It’s so famous that sometimes you have to wait a bit, but believe me, every minute is worth it. It’s my favorite refuel: powerful, authentic, and with the best Canarian-Peninsular flavor. A mandatory stop!créeme, cada minuto vale la pena. Es mi refuel favorito: potente, auténtico y con el mejor sabor canario-peninsular. ¡Una parada obligatoria!

El Olivo Corso
A charming little spot. Cuisine with a different touch and a cozy atmosphere. Perfect for a quiet lunch or dinner.
Azurro
It’s not just food, it’s an experience. Come here at sunset, grab a drink, and enjoy one of the most magical sunsets on the island
Jandía – Costa Calma
555
If you are in the South, you have to try it. A quality place with a very well-thought-out menu and great service. A sure bet in Costa Calma!
Bar de Marco
Another classic in the South. Good food, good atmosphere, and fantastic service. It’s one of those places that always feels like home.
And there you are! That is my personal selection of authentic and essential places to eat in Fuerteventura. I hope you enjoy these culinary gems as much as I do. From the unparalleled rice at La Arrocería in Corralejo to that pork cheek sandwich in El Cotillo that I swear is worth the trip.
Remember that these recommendations are more than just restaurants: they are mandatory stops to understand and savor the island’s local life. When you eat at any of these spots, you are not only enjoying great food, but you are supporting the small businesses that make Fuerteventura such a special place.
